If a picture is worth a thousand words, whats a few more?

Photography is perhaps the most prominent form of visual arts in the world today.  The photographic method was described as early as the 5th Century, but the functional camera was invented by the 1820s.  In just under 200 years, photography has become the mainstay of visual media and has become saturated in every aspect of society from media to entertainment, politics to culture.

The Work of Art Blog attempts to showcase the up and coming in the photographic world.  Readers will be amazed at the level of talent coming from the amateur and student population of photography enthusiasts, from the group of new professionals, and from the industry innovators.  These artists may not be featured on covers of magazines (yet) but they have the true passion for photography and all the related aspects and TWOAB is thrilled to help promote them.

TWOAB has a Flickr account for you to browse images in.  This Flickr account was created on April 12, 2011, and will showcase the work of many artists all under one publishing name.  It was created in part because of the limited hosting capabilities on this site and because the Flickr format best displays and organizes the photographs in one place.  All photos remain copyrighted to the artists.

The Blog’s photography section will tell the story behind the photos and provide links to individual photo collections or photographs.  You can access the main TWOAB Flickr photostream or the articles about the photos from this site, and in reverse access the stories/articles from the Flickr site.  You can also see a selection of recently added photos in the Flickr widget on the right-hand-side of each TWOAB page.
